Best Practices

Some of the best ideas, from incorporating rigor to promoting equity, come from AVID sites and districts. They have shared their work and success in a variety of ways, including through case studies and presentations at our conferences.

Case Studies

In 2009 and 2010, AVID Center sought out the best practices around the country and asked schools and districts to provide case studies.

For National Conference 2010, AVID asked schools to submit case studies on equity and rigor. Thirteen schools submitted case studies. Click on the school or district below to read their case study.

In 2009 AVID asked Demo Schools to submit case studies in their efforts to take AVID schoolwide.  The final, overall case study, Journey to Schoolwide AVID, features a compilation of the 25 individual case studies. It breaks out common elements and strategies schools had in order to grow AVID schoolwide.
